Rights & Duties
DUTIES
To the users:
» respect the person's private life and the dignity;
» respect the ideological, religious and cultural convictions;
» perform one's role free of charge and in the interest of the well-being of the user;
» contribute to the personal and holistic development of the user;
» ensure that one's volunteer work is regular.
To the host organisation:
» observe the deontological principles that regulate their activity;
» know and respect the host organisation's philosophy, statutes, programmes and work methodologies;
» comply with the host organisation's regulations;
» act in a diligent, independent and supportive way;
» ensure that materials and resources at one's disposal are used efficiently;
» participate in training programmes to improve work performance;
» resolve conflicts in their volunteering work;
» ensure that one's volunteer work is regular;
» use appropriately one's volunteer status on the job.
To professionals:
» collaborate with the host organisation's professionals, respecting their choices and following their technical advice;
» complement the work of the host organisation's professionals;
» resolve conflicts during their volunteering work.
To other volunteers:
» respect the dignity and the freedom of other volunteers, recognizing the value of their activity;
» foster team work, contributing to good communication and a pleasant work and social environment;
» promote the integration, training and participation of all volunteers.
To society:
» foster a culture of solidarity;
» promote volunteering;
» know the cultural and social reality of the community where one's volunteering activity takes place;
» complement the host organisations' social interventions;
» convey the values and the ideals of volunteer work through one's own work.
RIGHTS
» to receive support delivering one's work (initial and ongoing training and technical evaluation);
» to have a suitable ,work environment and good health and safety conditions;
» to be heard in the decisions that concern one's work;
» to be recognized for the work done (accreditation, certification of the volunteer work and having the experience acquired recognised);
» to agree on a volunteering programme with the host organisation, which includes the following:
» insurance regarding potential risks associated with the activity;
» activities to be undertaken;
» periodicity and timetable;
» training;
» periodical assessment of the work developed and results obtained.
