3 – FOLLOW UP

Once the judicial act is over, and if the victim is not yet receiving support from a victim support organisation from before the accompaniment, the victim support worker should question about the possibility of contacting later on in order to check how they feel and offer support for any needs the victim may have. Concerning under aged victims, their consent for this follow up contact should be given by their parents/legal representatives. Besides, it is important that the victim support worker sensitises the parents to the importance of said follow up.
