How to seek help?

If:

  • You have been a victim of sexual violence;

  • You know a victim of sexual violence;

  • You have questions about (re)actions after a situation of sexual violence;

  • You want to clarify the course of a process after a report;

  • You need some kind of support after hearing about someone who was a victim or a victim of sexual violence.

We are here to help you!

The Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV)  is a private charitable organisation, recognised by law that provides information, protection and emotional, psychological, legal and social support to all victims of crime, their families and friends.

CARE Network, which is part of APAV, provides support to children and youngsters who are victims of sexual violence, and also to the victims' families and friends.

CARE’s specialized team can answer any questions you may have, provide support or, if necessary, go with children and youngsters to Court or to other services related to the situation of sexual violence.

The support is free of charge and confidential (which means you don't have to identify yourself when talking to us, like tell us your name, where you live or your parents' names, for example).

  • Go to one of APAV's Victim Support Offices.
